Mag blues si Wally Gonzales (This guy too, Lead Guitars of Juan de la Cruz)
Lumaki sa layaw ni Mike Hanopol (Juan de la Cruz as well)
Bumalik ang kwago ni Bosyo (Band is Anak Bayan, Bosyo became the drummer of Juan de la Cruz in th late 80s)
Kamusta mula sa Maria Cafra ("Kumusta mga kaibigan? ok ba kayo riyan?" Sounds familiar?)
Umistambay si Heber (of course, tayo'y mga pinoy, sinong hinidi may alam niyan)
Sa bahay ni Gary Granada (baranggay Ginebra song)
Nagbago ang lumad ni Joey Ayala (the one and only ethnic guru)

Nagreklamo si Chikoy Pura (The Jerks)
Beh buti nga sa Hotdog (manila i'm coming home)
Nosibalasi Sampaguita (sino ba sila? hehehe)

Baby baby Rico J (baby baby baby)
Musikahan ni Ryan Ryan (musikahan!)
Umiskul bukol kay Tito Vic and Joey (eat bulaga)
Sumayaw sa VST (disco fever)
Humataw kay Gary V (Mr. Pure Energy)
Bumilad sa ballad ni Martin Nievera (Concert King)
Request sa dj ni Sharon Cuneta (The Megastar)
Nangako sayo si Rey Valera (the one, the original)

Nostagia galore!! I've heard and knew most of the songs and the persons that you listed as "haven't heard" from the 70s to the 90s!!! (Maria Cafra and Bosyo, I've heard them in NU107, "remote control weekends") We have cassette tapes of Heber Bartolome, Gary Granada, and Joey Ayala at ang Bagong Lumad because my sister is a former UP activist, that's why!! hehehe!!

Most of the persons that the song mentioned were members of Pinoy bands, i.e. Jack Sikat from Ethnic Faces (Local Boy), Binky Lampano from Dean's December, Chikoy Pura from The Jerks (Reklamo). Identity Crisis (Imagining Oktober), The Wuds (At Nakalimutan ng Dyos), Betrayed (Never Meant to be This Way), and Dead Ends were underground alternative (punk, new wave, and blues) bands in the 80s and 90s. Most of these bands already disbanded or collaborated with other Pinoy bands. My all time favorite Pinoy Band, "The Dawn" is still alive and kicking although they disbanded in the late 90s.

And yes, I also have Jingle Magazine and Rock and Rhythm song hits where they feature underground alternative bands during the 90s.

Betamax really rocks and the video is great. It brings back happy memories!! Thanks for writing this blog, I enjoyed reading it!!

Sorry for the multiple posts!! My internet connection got busted. Please delete the above comments!! Thank you!!
